You're right, it is beyond disappointing. Yet the fear and anger stem from some deep place of (i am NOT condoning bad disrespectful abusive behavior) scarcity, something which starts early, some sort of me vs you competitive duality which only gets worse. I'm so sorry you encountered this shaming. It's not right or true and again, you're right, it seems to be encouraged and applauded, these days.
