Young swan on a nest

My new friend, Lucy

Couldn’t find Buzz, don’t know where Bella’s nesting, but the young couple on the other side of the pond’s footpath, the scrabbly side, have made a sweet nest (Buzz may have seen me fraternizing with them, and wouldn’t care for that in the least), I will keep an eye on them (have named them Lucy and Ricky. Who knows why, it just came to me. Grew up with The Lucy Show). Bella has always nested far away from human eyes, good for her, bad for me, lol, so this is as close as I’ve been….

Addendum, a day later. The eggs are gone. All of them, the swan off the nest. I am heartbroken, and cried a bucketload already today over something else. This was not the sad story I was in the mood for…..
