The Sweetest Gift

I am a poet with a musician’s ear. Words are musical; they have a tenor, tone and timbre. I don’t need for them to rhyme. Words elucidate. Invigorate. A poem is a story of feelings, not explained but painted. Colored in wonder, joy, or sorrow ~ impossible to hold with no container. Fluid like water, fast and sometimes furious. A poem is a vessel on an elusive sea, loaded with precious messages, to be savored slowly. Not as text, but as a meditation on living. Poetry is a practice of forgiveness. A way to make peace with imperfection. A way to understand where you are and how you got here. A road map for those who follow. A blessing. A promise. A remembering of Love.
