Searching for Sustenance

It’s not as easy as declaring a day to celebrate Love. It’s not a simple concept, like ‘Earth Day’. We have forgotten how to honor, and why. One day of reminder is not enough. We have lost respect for the earth. For each other. For the animals that live here, searching for sustenance. We are making life more difficult for everyone. All of us, wounded and wounding, in this tremulous time.

Love is a practice. Every moment, a responsiveness to being. Doing is buying cards and candy that say “I Love You”. Being is sitting still with someone suffering, listening, comforting, trying your best to understand. We’re in this together. It’s not a race to the finish line, competitors be damned. Give a thirsty soul a drink. It’s as simple as that.
