Practice Peace

Anger is a fighting against reality. Swimming against the current of what is. Exhaustingly unproductive, a self-generated cyclone. “Release the hounds!” but they turn and come at you.

Peace is not being against anything. The hounds are lap dogs, napping and content. Tame your wild dogs. They’ve only wanted to protect you, but their response is limited. They only have one setting; from zero to combustible, before you even grasp the situation. Your job is to manage them (you see I am shying away from ‘control’), before they fly apart. Stay calm and centered, as their agitation escalates. Be patient. Anger is a learned behavior, repetition strengthens it.

Peace is a practice. In time you will learn balance. Feel the feelings, certainly, but you needn’t react like a swarm of killer bees. Be Aware. Breathe. Proceed with Caution. Easy as ABC.
