My Rock Wall

This is the West side of the house. This rock wall in front of the Peonies was once beautifully laid, but every bird, cat and rodent who goes by (and there are far, far too many) kicks something of an avalanche (i hear the cascading from my reading chair by the window). Mostly I fix it quietly, Zen-like. Sometimes I curse loudly, too loudly, and want to throw rocks like a three year old. Just hurl them willynilly (thankfully talk myself down from this). I’ve shored it up and solved the problem but it’s not aesthetically pleasing. Always a trade off (I don’t mind if the rocks fall forward, but when they go into the Peonies, the tender plants aren’t protected. I tried gluing the rocks together as a neighbor suggested, big disaster. Would have been a hilarious video though).

Oh, the rocks on the right were a wall as well, until I got so fed up I laid them flat one morning, at least one problem solved. two, if no weeds grow through.
Here it is behaving better
the green netting deterred some of the rock-sitting, but it slid off, eventually
Spring, from behind
