Live and Let Live
I’m envious of animals. How they survive without self-scrutiny. How they adapt, accept, accommodate, excel at being present. We wonder about the past, worry about the future and cause ourselves unnecessary stress, a waste of our bigger brain. We judge and compare, condemn, contradict, swinging from inflation to deflation, always thinking that we’re righter, smarter, better than the next guy.
I envy animals their freedom to be themselves. No one telling them how they don’t measure up. How they need to “be somebody.” No pressure to hide their real feelings, they’re not duplicitous. They don’t seem worried about their hair. Their weight. Their wealth. If others consider them attractive. It seems an easier way to live. Simpler.
Don’t take more than you need. Don’t spend today worrying about tomorrow. Protect what you love. Share what you can (be generous). Find your tribe and belong to it. Be relaxedly aware. Accept your limitations. Live (in love) and let live (in peace).
