Grief is a sadness carried by sorrow, and loss an emptiness which can’t be carried.
Sadness followed me everywhere, a lost puppy needing my attention, pleading for my love, but I could not take it in.
Grief is a return to a place eclipsed by loss and the passage of time, searching for something which will never be the same, never be repeated until at long last, you carry your sadness quietly, with a certain dignity and acceptance, a greater understanding of what it means to be human.
