I wanted to record this last night but it’s better today because I just realized the Lakota People’s Law Project is asking for donations today (Standing Rock, etc.) https://action.lakotalaw.org/

And this CD is the work of our dear friend Joanne Shenandoah, a Native American (Peacemaker’s Journey, 2000). This track is called “Peace and Power”, and I love it special. Some of us went to school with Joanne, a citizen of the Oneida Indian Nation, Wolf clan, based in New York, and I just recently found out she has left this good green earth for the great beyond. This, then, is for you, sweet friend. And if this doesn’t make me teary-eyed enough, this morning I am dropping my clarinets off to be purchased (hoping) by someone who will give them more beautiful life, this chapter is over for me, though without them, I may not have gotten my life together. So all these Great Spirit threads come together this morning and it doesn’t matter that I didn’t even brush my hair (ur, now i wish i had).
