When the shepherd is seized, the sheep are scattered. We are all guilty. Frightened to stay, ashamed to run away, we are disappointingly human. No wonder so few understood. How to love from our brokenness and disgrace. How to stand what is too painful to see. How to be strong, when our knees and hearts are weak.

To be human is to suffer life’s insults. To be fully human is to understand that we are never alone, were never meant to be alone. Oh tiny lamb, lost and innocent, longing to belong, trembling before the shearer, saved by the gentle recompense of a love you’ve done nothing to deserve.
