Dark Side of the Moon

Pain is like the dark side of the moon. The face we show, the stories we tell, even the clothes we wear, designed to hide the truth. Under the smile, beneath the cheerful greeting, an avalanche of wounds. No one can see the bleeding, and if you speak of it, many will move away, or tell you to get over it, or say you’ve brought it on yourself.

It’s easier to blame another for your pain, than to sit with it and listen to what it’s trying to say. If I own my own pain, I won’t have to dump it on you. I won’t have to anesthetize myself. I’ll sit with you, my friend, in pain, without wanting to run away.

The light on the other side is soft and sweet. Strong yet gentle. Shining for all eternity, a love that believes in light.
