Doug took a sweet pic! I brought it in, it was cold and wet and couldn’t fly, but even warmed up, it wouldn’t work its wings so was convinced it *couldn’t* fly. Crawled wicked fast though, lol. Took it downstairs to the basement with me to look for a box and after a bit it flew up onto the fluorescent light over the drier! Jumped on a chair, held out my hand, it was all over the place, bouncing off the light, back and forth, but it came back to me (I felt like a Falconer), settled down in my hand, Doug opened the front door and off it went over the house, to safety (let’s hope). It’s getting cold at night and their days are numbered, but I wanted him to be with his people (only the Queen over-Winters). Love them so. there’s no explaining it.

in the garden. Not interested in flowers, tried that (i was cold too!) Author photo
Um, don’t want the flower. I want your warm hand, please.
