Bella & Buzz at the very end (or beginning) of the pond

Buzz in the marsh mess (it’s very beautiful but not for people, turns out). I *am* this close.

I tried a new spot at the pond yesterday, woods between two houses, closer to the road less walking, at the very end where there are still cat tails (and lots of geese) because I was curious. It’s all marshland. I took one small step wrongly and went in up to my knees pretty quickly. Camera up, sitting in the water, no stick for leverage. Lucky a nice warm day but there’s still snow in there. It’s funny now. I got a couple nice shots and both swans came in to me through all manner of mud and muck, bless their hearts. And I lost my lens cap. All in all, it might have been worse. I really should have a cell phone…

Bella & Buzz (Buzz looks SO much like William).
back out on the water (they didn’t much like it when I fell in and yelled, lol).
Bella&Buzz having a conversation about the last goose couple
Goodbye, Geese. Don’t come back (but they always do. Bad blood between geese and swans). Photos mine. Someone has cut all the cat tails down, around the entire pond, but these still stand. Hope they can find enough nesting material.
