And Yet He Loved Me

I had checked out, in so many ways. Gone girl, pretending to be available. I had closed up shop, gone home for the day. Peddling whatever I thought was sale-able.

Am sad and am sorry I broke your heart. Regret that we lost our connection. I was confused, my mind and my life torn apart. My body a literal insurrection.

Forgive me my clumsy carelessness. Forgive me my confusion. You are, and remain, a bright star on my horizon. For ever and always, irreplaceable. Thank you for loving me through my darkest hour. I don’t know how to thank you.
