A Story From Lori
Shane losing the fishhook was great news but wait, there’s more! Maybe. Not fluent in swan, I may have mistaken Buzz puffing up as territorial defense instead of courting. Then, in the distance, when he never returned and I saw two swans, unclearly, I may have mistaken them for Bonnie&Clyde the bullies returned to finish off the job. I might have yelled loudly, at the top of my little lungs, even, NOOOOOO! GO AWAY! HAVEN’T YOU CAUSED ENOUGH TROUBLE??? Then it occurred to me that there might be a way to get back in the reeds to the side where maybe that *is* Buzz and a new lady, without coming back our way and maybe he *is* courting. So I yelled my apologies and congrats (I told the babies to stay with me, not knowing what was what) and the trouble in paradise might really be great news, and so quickly, and how on earth did he do that? Stay tuned. What do I know??? (Swans have such a fine thin line between amour and armor. It’s a wonder any survive).
