A Family of Friends
Dear Lord, let my heart harbor no hatred. Let my Love heal this vile brutality which has seeped into mass consciousness like a virus, like a plague, an anti-life, which can only lead to death.
Dear Lord, grant mercy to the merciless and make them merciful and penitent. Humble the pride and vanity which seeks power by humiliation. Help us to be of one heart. Heal the ugliness of the heartless and help them realize the blood of their enemies is no different than their own.
Lord, help us to bring justice to great suffering. Freedom to great fear, and hope to great hardship. May the pernicious hatred of this country be absorbed in the rock which is timeless, and may we come to Peace together, one people, undivided, a harmonious family of friends.
